Dr. Denhez,
   The about-to-be-released new American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines
will say that children should be breastfed for "at least 12 months."  That
might give you some backing for at least a 12 month reassignment.  Can't
these women file papers or answer the telephone or mop the floors, or
something?  Is staying at home the only alternative the company can come up
with?
