Expecting mothers and delivered mothers receive these gifts because they
signed up for something either in their physician's office or at a store. They
also get names from baby fairs. Any time a purchase is made at a store the
potential for your personal information to be sold to companies is there. If
a friend or relative purchases a gift and gives your name, this is another
avenue.
Doctors do not give names of their patients to companies. What can happen
at a doctor's office is sign up sheets at the desk for baby and parent
magazines. This is another source for formula companies to get names.
