Elise,
As I may have told you before I was (and am) a young mother, very
determined to breastfeed my son. My husband knew nothing about breastfeeding before
I started talking to him about breastfeeding and reading articles to him
about the benefits of breastfeeding. He was 19, what did I expect? Our son is
now two and he can answer most breastfeeding questions and is very supportive of
self lead weaning. My friends and family can call and if I'm not home they
will ask him their questions about breastfeeding. What I am getting at is that
sometimes young fathers are more open to breastfeeding because they are not
as set in their ways. Like the young father in your case, my husband had only
seen examples of breastfeeding in which the mother was exposing herself,
before our son.

P.S. I wish your young family all the benefits of breastfeeding that my
little family has experienced.
