Lest anyone accuse me of being a "brownie" I'd like to point out the article
in the current issue of the Globe on communications skills for LCs was written
specifically to address a thread on "doctor bashing" from last fall. It is
wonderful to compliment a healthcare profession who agrees with us; it is less
cool to say that "they have fallen off their pedestals" when referring to a
lack of knowledge. A respectful tone is needed whenever communication takes
place; otherwise your words are lost. There are many different levels of
knowledge; can we help it that we are the breastfeeding experts? "They" may be
experts in things we are not well versed in. Lets make friends.
