About a year ago I had a patient who was neutropenic
and breastfeeding. Not pancytopenic. Any we never even thought
to not breastfeed. Infant he kept getting febrile with negative
cultures and I asked his heme/onc specialist why would an at
home breastfed baby get so many viruses? that led to more
work-up. Do to an HMO change he had to change practices,
never found the reason for his problem.
