I have seen several questions/comments lately that both the one asking and
the one(s) answering could have benefitted from reading ILCA Standards of
Practice for Lactation Consultants. This publication is available from ILCA
for $5. All ILCA members will receive a complimentary copy after the first of
the year. (Don't ask about the glitch holding the mailing up for this
year--pulleaze!) I have ordered several copies to deliver to the libraries of
the local colleges of nursing, medicine, etc. Plan to send them to other
women's health associations. (E-mail me privately with assn. names and
addresses and the assn's purpose/mission. Maybe this could become a PR
"push"!) Thrilled to be able to share this publication with all LCs and
interested health professionals (and drafts were reviewed and "OK'd" by
