I was going to respond to the questions about gloves and
equipment but before I got around to it, Barbara Clay Wilson
and so many of you so elegantly responded. Just one
postscript, I work in Home care and we wipe down all
equipment with alcohol after each visit including our pens.
We did a study a few years ago and were horrified to find out
what was growing. WE also only use non latex gloves for LC
consults and post partum women.
Responding to the question of epidural problems,This is
really getting a little OT but 29 years ago I had an
epidural and went into cardiac arrest. The MD was not sure if
it went too high or got into the intrathecal space. My son
has high frequency hearing loss and 30-35% hearing but he's
smart, witty and well adjusted, I guess almost 4 years of
Breastfeeding helped(trying to get back OT)Thankful for all
of you and what I learn from you. Chris ErlandRN IBCLC
