First time on LACTNET and I find it very interesting and informative.
Recently working with a mom diagnosed by doctor with apparent postpartum
depression. Happened at same time with first baby also breastfed. Doctor
and mom decide estrogen patch as best way to initially treat problem because
it is less invasive and costly to mother over traditional depression drugs.
The concern of doctor and mother is reduced milk supply - baby 9 months old.
Patch worn on backside and replaced twice weekly delivering 0.1 mg/day.
Mother also referred to support group and counseling. Also, has anyone
heard of any problems with such a patch affecting a male baby negatively even
at such a low dose? Appreciate any response. Thanks!

Lee
