Hello friends,

I need some advise from you....

I was recently asked to write a monthly breastfeeding article for a
large medical web site. I wrote the first one, sent it in and it was
approved, they gave me the url for a preview of the site, this division
of the site is new and will be launched on Monday AM. As I checked out
the site , I found a link from the Institute Of Infant Nutrition on it,
owned by Ross Labs. I am told that they are not providing any money to
the site but are merely a link, I sent the site owners a copy of the WHO
code, they chose not to remove the link tot he site, my dilemma is, do I
keep my column there about breastfeeding? By doing that, am I breaking
the WHO COde or the LC's COde of Ethics? I need to make a decision
ASAP! because the site will be launched tomorrow. If I decline they
will find someone else.

Below is the majority of the post sent to me about the article, with
identifing info XXXX's out:
"At this time the link stays. It might be different if the page
contained
comments to sway women away from breastfeeding, but it doesn't do that.

The purpose of XXXXX is to provide information to medical professionals

and women. Not all women can or will breastfeed so they need to have
alternative information. This does not mean that XXXXX t is *pushing*
formula.

If we were to take such a militant stance, where would it end? Do we
then
tackle the diaper industry? Sure, cloth are better. I had XXXXX in
cloth
diapers and I tried to put XXXXX in them as well. She, like myself,
has
very sensitive skin and reacts to any plastic or rubber material. The
elastic in nylon pants to cover diapers gives her contact dermatitis.
So I
am thankful there are disposables available with a paper outer layer to
keep
her skin beautiful and not irritated.

So I guess the best I can tell you is that we are promoting
breastfeeding
with front page articles (if not by you, then written by someone else)
and
maintaining our current links.

If you wish to discuss this further you will need to write to the editor
ofXXXXX

If you do not care to be involved in the XXXXX section of
XXXXX by writing periodic breastfeeding articles, please let me know
now
so I can pull the article currently on the homepage."
