Megan told us of some errors at the Nestle website regarding shaking
expressed breast milk. One of the things NABA has found is that providing Nestle or
any other formula company with correct information about breastfeeding or breast
milk is actually doing their work for them. The business of formula companies
is to sell formula, not help mothers breastfeed. The breastfeeding
information is put on these sites to burnish a tarnished image and present the
appearance of a helpful friend. When we write anything for them it does not help
breastfeeding mothers. The mothers can get correct and better information from any
number of other sources. Aiding formula companies, especially if they turn
around and state that the information was provided by a lactation consultant or
whatever, helps legitimize their efforts to undermine breastfeeding.

Rather than waste time fixing formula company inaccuracies, you could report
their misinformation to the honor code on the web organization, that makes an
attempt to keep health information accurate. Just my two cents on the issue!
