What you describe with the lump which progressed to several oozing
sores, sounds a little like something I have seem as a nurse
practitioner occasionally, hydradenitis suppurativa. It is a condition
characterized by recurrent lumps which open and drain commonly in the
axillary region and groin. It may spontaneosly resolve, then reoccur
months later. If she has never had this before, i do not know if this is
it but there is always a first one. Could this be another situation of
blaming it on breastfeeding, this time mastitis? Just something to keep
in mind.
