Judy K from Israel has bad winds; other parts of theworld have similar
phenomena. In the winter in the midwest (US) (and I think in Canada) we
call them chinooks (they are --relatively--warm and make for major weather
changes).

The key here may be that such phenomena usually occur in conjunction with
major barometric changes. Judy--and others: do you notice an increase in
premature births during these periods? This too has been linked to MAJOR
barometric shifts.
