Dear Wise Lactnetters,

A mother of a 19 m/o is to have a gall bladder scan that will involve TC-99m- choletec or hepatolite- dose of 4.5 mCi. She has been told she will need to pump and discard her milk. Many references refer to a 30 hour wait, which is what she has been told by the medical team. Does anyone have 1) information on this that suggests differently and/or 2) information on its use with children?

Many thanks,

Cindy Garrison BS IBCLC
