Nancy says,
***********************************************

Because of a severe illness and multiple medications my youngest sister is
unable to breastfeed and is using Similac. I have been helping to care for
her
newborn baby girl and have been surprised at how soft, yellow and squirty the
baby's stools are. While I am sad that she is not getting breastmilk, she is
growing and thriving. She does not have diarrhea, but the stools look very
much like breastmilk stools!
Have others seen this?

**************************************************

My grandbaby's stools are nasty -- pasty, hard to remove, green (like the
algae from which the DHA is made), and quite stinky. (Please, everyone, no
flames about my grandbaby being bottlefed and if ONLY I had done thus and so he
would be breastfeeding by now....in one form or another, I've heard it all)

I've encouraged my daughter to switch to non-DHA formula so that perhaps his
stools would become more normal. Interesting to hear that your niece's
stools are normal and almost resemble breastmilk stools. I wonder if the
difference is the Similac Advance vs. the Enfamil Lipil (which Deven is getting.

What have others seen?

Jan B -- who has learned not to criticize now that she has had to walk in
some other shoes.
