I know this has been discussed on Lactnet before, that a baby who refuses 
solid foods may be self-protecting against food sensitivities/allergies.  
I'd say in addition to seeking out other answers such as sensory integration 
issues, mom should think of nursing as a protective factor (against 
potential allergy triggers) until other possible reasons are investigated.
