Re: "extended" and "prolonged" nursing. We discuss pregnancy in terms
of trimesters. Perhaps we could have a similar descriptive set of terms
for lactation, reflecting the "normal" period. I do think that knowing what
(semester?) of lactation is being described is useful and often
necessary.  (Did someone else on the list already mention this idea? )  I
think such a description would underline the normalcy of bf over the
course of years, rather than a few months.
