In our hospital the mothers go home before the milk comes in -- unless it is
the unusual mom who has milk coming in at 24 hours, or she's had a C/Section
and milk comes in at 3 days if we're lucky.  The only reason I've noted late
onset of milk with Pitocin induction (NOT augmentation) is because I'm in
private practice, seeing and talking to moms post hospitalization.  Most of
the nurses in our facility haven't seen "engorgement" in years -- so the moms
go home not knowing how to prevent or handle it, because people are
forgetting that it happens....
