I was wondering and perhaps you can email me off the list around what do
Private Lactation Consultants charge in your state for in-home visits. I am
really feeling that I am not getting paid what I am worth. I already charge
just a wee bit ($10.00) above the few other private LC's in my area and I
believe I see more clients then they do. I don't think it is the fees but my
referral system is different and more developed in my opinion. But after
travel time, gas and self employment tax I am embarrassed to mention what I
bring home. I have thought about a sliding scale. The reality of it is I
know that I provide a service that is specialized as I come to the home so
they don't need to get into the car and drive somewhere. I would love to
open a breastfeeding clinic and have them come to me and not needing to
charge as much yet the demand is for me to come to their home. I already
charge a significant discount if they come to me and only 15% of my clients
take advantage of that.  Any thoughts?
