I can understand why someone would ask this question. It was the birth
experiences with my four children (psychosexual vaginal experiences :))
that changed everything that I ever did in medicine. I became ever the
parent advocate ,the political voice for CNMs , changed my philosophy ,led
me to becoming a childbirth educator and lactation consultant. Someone who
has a good birth memory or has not resolved a bad birth memory ( there are
too many people around with those) may be very influenced by this
experience. I like to see the "light in the eye" when someone has a good
birth memory. Someone with unresolved issues around the birth of their own
children might not be the best person for such a job.
Now someone with a good philosophy for parent advocacy, "the light in the
eye", and good management skills -aha- there is a good candidate.
