I am supporting a mother who ia becoming very anxious about her 7 week old
daughter.
Everything was fine until babe reached 6 weeks then suddenly stopped filling
her nappy and only passing anything once or twice a week. No problem, the
world record is......!

However the baby is now producing absolutely evil wind all the time, her
motions are darkish yellow (but mum had tried sugar water on grandma's
suggestion!) and normal constituency when she does go but they too smell
badly, sulphurous.

This is the second baby, other boy fed for 10 months with no problems, no
change in diet , mum drinks mostly water with 2 cups tea/coffee daily. No
medication for mum or babe.

The other thing is that suddenly baby hates to be laid on her back, even in
car seat. Must lay on her front to sleep, which also worries mum. I watched
her yesterday and as soon as she was laid flat even in mum's arms she started
to fret.

Any suggestions? She has seen GP who can see nothing wrong and is starting to
look at mother and suggest post natal depression. Yes she is anxious but only
over sudden change in child's behaviour. The only time she is happy and smiley
is after she has passed a motion. But the rest of the house clears out!

Thanks
