My problem with this sort of thing is it makes a final demarcation when
I have found that weaning doesn't turn out to be the one shot deal we
first envision. In fact I have only seen mothers who heavily
supplemented have kids stop and never return. In my experience, weaning
happens in fits and starts and it is long over before one realizes it is
indeed finally over. This I know only professionally. Personally, I
have a five year old who still comes back to the breast when his health
is bad despite seeming totally weaned most of the time. I have given up
trying to think of him as either weaned or not.
My .02.
