Dear Lacnetters,

It's late here and I'm going around in circles looking for a good reference
about breastfeeding in the Dutch Hunger Winter. What I'm looking for is very
specific i.e. it must be a reference which shows the evidence that women in
the Dutch hunger winter were still able to produce adequate breastmilk and
thus feed their babies. This piece of information I have gleaned from a
Dutch text but it isn't referenced? Thus if anyone out there does have the
reference then please mail me (it's urgently needed).

I'm not looking for the refs about starvation and birthweigth (and later
outcomes) where the literature abounds with references - specifically only
the Dtuch Hunger winter and breastfeeding.

I've done a PubMed search and Lacnet archives search, but no luck yet.

I hope someone can help or at least set me on the right track.

Thanks in advance,

Sara Bernard
