Susan, you always make me think!

I would like to mention again that I do see oversupply not
infrequently among mothers in LLL (virtually all doing unrestricted
breastfeeding). I can think of five women off the top of my head who
had raging oversupply despite breastfeeding early and often and
completely on cue from the beginning. Several of them had
homebirths, so particularly in those cases I know that mother & baby
were together uninterrupted from the first minute. These women were
definitely practicing ecological breastfeeding.

I completely agree that asynchrony is a big factor for breastfeeding
problems of many kinds. However, oversupply still happens even with
optimal breastfeeding conditions & management.
