Debi's story of a proud papa at the Statue of Liberty reminded me of my
husband. He has been through it all with me from breastfeeding our two
boys to my becoming a LLL leader. As I became more of an avocate for
breastfeeding, so did he, spreading the "good word" even at his job as an
engineer in a textile plant. After 2 years of gently correcting
misinformation about breastfeeding that comes up during conversations at
coffee breaks, he's become known at work as the "lactation expert"! And as
if to verify that, one day he called me from his office and asked, "how
long can you keep breast milk at room temp again?" I asked why he wanted
to know and he said he had a woman in his office who needed help and he
wanted to make sure he was giving her the correct info! It seems women come
to his office when they have questions about breastfeeding! Next I'll be
getting calls from my son at pre-school!

Happy breastfeeding/breastnurturing week from Jessica who knows that
breastfeeding, without a doubt, is a "family thing":)
