I, too, have to throw in my vote, on the list, for Dr.
Larry Gartner.  I recently attended a conference on
breastfeeding in the NICU; Dr. Gartner was a featured
speaker and he was AMAZING.  He calmly and carefully
blasts open any myths regarding breastfeeding and
jaundice (his specialty), with material based on
physiology; for example, giving water to jaundiced
infants has no basis in physiologic fact, since
bilirubin is excreted via the bowel, not via the
kidneys.  A simple concept, but one still quite often
ignored.
If you could persuade Dr. Gartner to speak at your
conference, perhaps he could trigger some changes in
practice....one would hope!
