well, i always told my players (rugby) that injuries result from a
poor fitness level...
caring for a baby or toddler usually doesn't help to maintain a
fitness level that keeps you from hurting yourself in a sport like
soccer.
i understand that she's talking about fibula and tibia in the same
leg? did the first fracture occur in a contact situation?
without proper physiotherapy to rebuild the muscle there could just
been an imbalance that resulted in the second fracture.

after giving birth to my second child i could not train properly and
had several ligament injuries - because i did not take the first one
seriously and always started to train too early, doing too little.
that used to work _before_ the young one arrived, but does not work
anymore.
with my first i had a similar experience (sprained ankles etc) for at
least 2 years pp, and she was nursed only 4 months.

so i guess the "mothering" is responsible, not the nursing.

Because the Medieval Church, with the support of kings, princes and
secular authorities, controlled medical education and practice, the
Inquisition constitutes, among other things, an early instance of the
"professional" repudiating the skills and interfering with the rights
of the "nonprofessional" to minister to the poor. -Thomas Szasz, The
Manufacture of Madness-
