My daughter in college (breastfed 16 mos and always had sensitive skin, tho
no allergies) recently complained to me that she can no longer eat kiwi as it
makes her mouth tingle and swell. This jogged something in the back recesses
of my brain and I went looking for info. Sure enough, there are several foods
that are related to latex allergies. You can do a google search. I came up
with this lay website, but there are many resources out there:
_http://familydoctor.org/254.xml_ (http://familydoctor.org/254.xml) .

The foods listed to be wary of are banana, avocado, chestnut, kiwi fruit and
tomato (come to think of it, she used to break out if tomato products such
as catsup touched her skin when she was a toddler, hmmmm). I was also surprised
to note bandaids on the list of latex-containing products - just never
thought about it!
