According to the RD's I work with and the State WIC Branch, honey and corn
syrup can contain botulism.  Apparently older digestive systems can handle
this, but an infant cannot.  WIC literature in CA recommends waiting until
age 1 for honey and corn syrup.  I'm sure there are others far better
qualified than I who can answer this.
