Hello. I posted about this same situation about 2 years ago. Same mother,
same problem. She has what is called a "fatty liver". With first baby mother
SNSed for 2 months and her milk never came in. This is her second try at it
and still no milk on day 7. With first baby mother tried Reglan with no
effect. She tells me that her insulin levels were a bit off before
pregnancy, and her thryoid is normal. She has not had either her thryoid or
insulin levels checked since baby was born.

If anyone has an answer for how fatty liver effects milk supply, this mother
(and I) would be very intrested.

Thanks!

Brenda PHipps, BS, IBCLC
