Just wondering what LC's are finding to be the most benign way of
feeding a baby in special care particularly one that is just jaundiced
or has low sugars and not latching. What is most acceptable to the
nurses and docs? Cup feeding (why?), Fingerfeeding (why?). I've
been trying to get the nurses to use a lactation aid off the finger
but I'm unsure of the evidence that says the baby will latch onto
breast easier after being fed this way. Is there any evidence. I know
they don't like to cup feed (and my feeling is baby needs to suck not
lap). So what are you all suggesting?
