Pat, like you, "back in the day", I heard a formula for 2-year-old height and adult weight. The ratio I was told was that boys would double their 2-year-old height in adulthood, barring bad health in the interim. This was very reassuring for one of my boys who was the youngest in his class and very tiny all through primary school and early high school - and then (like my mother) shot up at age 15 years. The estimate for girls was that their aduilt height would be less than double their 2-year-old height. :Like you, Pat, I only ever tested this against my own children. Like any rough guide, it is just that - an estimate.

Eons ago I had learned that baby girls at 2 would probably double their height in adulthood and age 2 1/2 for boys. It happened to be consistent for my sample of 5. Now you can all go check your baby books, LOL. Pat in SNJ
