Longtime lurker, 1st time poster
I recently watched the director's cut of Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch". I'm not sure
the breastfeeding scene is included in the original release. This is an extraordinarily violent western
made in the 60's, I think. In any case, when the wild bunch enters a Mexican village
a young mother with a toddler latching on is shown. I'm not sure what the director was
going for by including this but it's always surprising to see such a big baby latching on
in a feature film. Perhaps it was to provide contrast to the violence in the rest of the film.
