Dena asked for some suggestions of breastfeeding art. Here are a few
places to try:

Cydney Weingart of "The Learning Curve," 4614 Prospect Avenue, #421,
Cleveland, Ohio 44103-4314, phone: (216) 881-5151, fax: (2160 881-7177, has
done some breastfeeding art work. It is available on T-shirts, note cards,
note paper, postcards. Perhaps you have seen her World Breastfeeding Week
poster design of a nursing mother with the world in the background. She
also has a painting titled, "Laverna," of an African-American mother
nursing her baby. Cydney exhibits at all the ILCA conferences. She also
has a catalog you could send for to get an idea of her work.

Another artist with some breastfeeding acrylics in "contemporary
impressionism" style is William Tacke, 315 South Highland Avenue, New Ulm,
Minnesota 56073. (507)359-9295. He had a signed, numbered print called
"Love" of a mother nursing her baby. I don't know if this is still
available, but you could contact him. (The brochure I have is from 1987).

There is a nice painting by Auguste Renoir called "Mother and Child" in the
National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh. It might be possible to
purchase a print from the museum. They do make postcards of it. Many
other museums around the world have paintings of nursing mothers, and many
museum gift shops sell these as prints.
