There is one! ILCA began it. The first Outstanding Contribution in Human
LActation award went to Niles in 1987. Following her death in 1993, it was
renamed the Niles Newton Memorial Award for...

It is not given often; only two times so far. And is for someone who has
made a lifetime contribution to lactation. So....LACTNET could not by
itself do another one, it seems to me. However, if anyone wanted to
suggest a candidate, they should do so to the Pres or Pres Elect (I can't
remember who handles this) of ILCA.

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
