How's this for longterm breastfeeding? Read First Samuel 1:21-24.
At the end of verse 24, it is implied that the child (Samuel) was
weaned late. The original Hebrew word for "child" is strange. It
really means "young man", and in proof of this, the same word is
used later in First Samuel to describe Jonathan's armor-bearer
(First Sam 14:1) and to describe David when he faced Goliath
(First Sam 17:33,42,55). Before someone asks - my kids were
weaned well before going into the army! Regards, Judy Knopf
