Pat, I had to smile at your reply to Jean. Several years ago I was invited
to talk at a lunchtime meeting of the Zimbabwean College of Primary Care
Physicians. Glad to have this chance to do a little PR for our profession,
I decided to talk about common breastfeeding difficulties, and how they
could be resolved. I showed slides of cabbage leaves on engorged breasts,
admitting that while my audience might not want to recommend something so
unscientific, *I* wasn't afraid to! Years later overfull clients would
tell me in astonished tones, "My doctor told be to use CABBAGE leaves, do
you think that's OK???"
