I think that would depend on the brand.  However, I once had a very 
involved email conversation with Valerie McClain, who informed me that 
the only was to get bifidus bacteria into a supplement form was to 
culture it out of BF-babies' stools and genetically engineer it.  So 
mom may want to look at lactobacillus, in a *dairy-free* culture, 
before considering bifidus.
