I have a patient who is nursing an 8 month old. She (the
mother) has been prescribed potassium iodide for patulous
eustachian tube (PET). Hale notes this medication should be
used with caution during lactation, if at all. Medication will
need to be taken over the course of several months.
Consequently, this woman has decided to wait until her baby
is weaned to start treatment (her current bf goal is one year).

Does anyone know of other treatments for this condition that
are compatible with breastfeeding?
