The idea of weaning such a young baby really bothers me. I have
come across a mom now and then who does this. I have found that they usually
regret it because once off the breast, baby starts to get sick, ear infections,
colic, problems with digestion. And then the mom gets past that first 12
weeks or so, and realizes, oh I shouldn't have stopped.

But it sounds like she is really set on this weaning idea and no
one is going to help support her otherwise. The book Mothering Your
Nursing Toddler has some excellent suggestions for weaning (of course
this isintended for older babes).

Good luck to you. Its very hard for me to understand people that
want to wean so early.
