Loraine Stern MD is our kind of dr! In her column Your Child's Health:
Advice to ignore, it may be well meaning, but not worth taking she says:
"You're still breastfeeding?"
Implicit in that question is the belief that you're doing it too long. But
the American Academy of Pediatrics recently issued a statement supporting
breastfeeding through the first year of life. Many mothers and children
enjoy it even longer, and toddlers often need that extra measure of
closeness that a bedtime nursing provides. How long you choose to nurse
is a personal decision dictated by your child's needs as well as your
lifestyle.

Isn't that refreshing? Woman's Day's Address is: [log in to unmask]
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
