Has anyone else seen the Japanese_Womanly Art of Breastfeeding_? It is
really interesting! I ordered it for a Chinese woman (WIC client) who
said she would be able to read it as the characters are similar to the
Chinese ones. Rowena from Texas

Subject: Breastfeeding in Japan

I am an LC working in a WIC office on a Navy base in Japan. I have
noticed
that a large number of the Japanese moms do not breastfeed. This was a
suprise to me. I have asked a few of them why they are not
breastfeeding.
(with the limmited japanese that I know) The responce has always been
that
they have been told that "the chem. in the air are to dangerous." Now,
we
all know the correct responce to that, but... I was wondering if anyone
out
there has information about this in Japanese. I know this is a shot in
the
dark, but still worth a try. I have been in Japan for two years and
working
for WIC for 7 months, and this has been the most diffucult part of my
job.
(other then the the whole formula thing.I won't even go down that path
though.)

Thanks in advance!
