Hello,

I have a perplexing problem with a patient, and am hoping that someone
can give good advice. One of my breastfeeding patients has a very large
cyst in her breast, which has grown in size over several weeks. This
lump became so painful  that she sought treatment from a surgeon, who
aspirated the area. The mother was in my office three days later,
stating that the area filled up even more and was more painful than
ever. She sought out emergency room treatment. This time the area was
aspirated again, and a brownish fluid was taken out. Still no relief,
and immediate refilling. \

I sent this mom back to the surgeon who did the first aspiration, and
she was told that there was nothing he could do for her, that she would
have to cope with this somehow. She obtained a breastpump and says that
she is finally get some relief when she pumps, but that the area is
still refilling and painful.

Any tips on how we can get this area to stop refilling?
