Thanks for the link to a great reference.  A mom in my support group was very
upset because a good friend of hers was "sleep training" her 6 mos infant and
I gave her the reference I have from a Harvard study on crying and increased
cortisol levels that lead to depression in adulthood (I've posted on this
before).  I have now sent her the link to this statement from Australia.  The
group mom is a psychotherapist so she's aware of the dangers of "left to cry" for
infants/people.

My favorite quote, which I often use is by Lee Salk, PhD:  "If cring is good
for the lungs, then bleeding is good for the veins."
