Hello.

I have been lurking on LACTNET for quite some time and have learned a great
deal. I have wanted to comment on several issues, but someone always seems
to say it first and quite eloquently, so I have held back rather than add a
"me, too" to the list.

Many people have written in regarding LLL in the past couple of days. As a
LLL Leader it is obvious where my bias lies. However, I would like to add
one comment and hope it is appropriate for the list. Please forgive me if it
is not.

I feel in all aspects of life, we have to be very careful not to generalize
from one experience or experience with one section of a group in one part of
the country. One bad experience with LLL, or a LLL group, or with an LC or
whomever, cannot be generalized to the group as a whole. Living in the
South, in a somewhat non-progressive city, I see this all the time with
racism. Someone has a bad experience with someone of another race and
generalizes and that is how a lot of prejudice is born and continued. Let's
remember that a group is made up of individuals and individuals do make
mistakes.

We all have a common bond here. Rather than volley accusations and defenses
back and forth, wouldn't brainstorming solutions be a better idea?

Just my opinion. Back to lurking.....
