HI--

My son was recently diagnosed with a nut allergy and
as I'm 38 weeks pregnant asked about what I can do to
help prevent my next child having an allergy like
this... the allergist said to avoid eggs, nuts, and
peanuts during pregnancy and breastfeeding..
apparently because these allergens cross the placenta
in "whole" form.... anything else didn't matter was
his take... (btw, both my children are milk sensitive
and i've never been much of a dairy consumer...)

Would be interesting if anyone else could speak more
about this. my bias: I'm a big believer in
encouraging moms to eat healthy diet with as little
limitation as possible (and trying to reintroduce
offending foods into diet as child matures) Alot of
theories are thrown out about this --so it would be
great to hear of any research on this.

regards
