Please, please, use a nitrile or vinyl glove when you do this. Everytime you
do this, you are sensitizing the infant to latex. I have a severe latex
allergy and have had 4 anaphalyxic reactions since the last week of March and
I really wish we could get the message out to not expose infants and children
to latex so often. They are now being exposed to latex in day care settings,
MD offices, and food handlers. Switchng the type of gloves used is not hard,
and it can make a big difference in the outcomes.
