I agree that the baby will probably slow down and even  (good heavens!) drop
down on his curve by the 8-12 mo mark.  BF babies frequently have a rapid
pattern of growth in the first 6 mo and then level off.  At least that's
what I kept telling my daughter when her son gained like crazy :-)

He weighed 42 pounds by the time he was 2 y.o. then just kept getting taller
and stayed at 42 lbs for 2 years!  Talk about a funny curve.  He was happy
and healthy and developmentally on target with the sweetest fat cheeks.  He
is now 20 and is a tall, skinny, string bean !  Of course that's my sample
of one - actually my three sons also followed the same sort of pattern,
rapid gain in the beginning that leveled off normal size through childhood
and teens.  As adults, 2 are tall and slender and one isn't quite so tall
and is overweight - but sadly that's another whole story :-(  Sincerely, Pat
