Dear Lactnetters,

Can anyone provide information on helping a mother with fibrocystic disease
to breastfeed. This is a question from a colleague, and a look at the usual
texts did not turn up much info other than to avoid caffeine. Apparently
this mother is having a lot of pain- this is her 2nd child. She weaned the
first child from the breast at one week. Apparently the pain is worse when
she is breastfeeding and is a deep breast pain that radiates up to her
shoulders.

Any info would be most appreciated.
