Jennifer,
I rather suspect that, beyond the business of the season, is the fact that
many of us are in over our heads on a question like this. I am no
endocrinologist or biochemist, but I do know that by 2 years of
breastfeeding, mom's system would be on autocrine, not endocrine control.
From what I understand of the breastfeeding and pregnancy processes, this
would mean that the breastfeeding would not be a factor here. It's a red
herring. (To those for whom English is a second language - that means
"something that draws attention away from the central issue").
My sympathy to that mother. It is very hard to lose a baby like this, and
even worse to need to continue to carry it, and be worried that the act of
nurturing a child may have something to do with the fact that "your body
isn't working right" is very hard.
