Thank you to  Dr. Wight and Jan Barger for clarifying the statement  from Dr. 
Neifert that has been quoted over and over - whether it be  misinterpreted or 
mis-quoted. Thank you also to the other posters who have  given such 
articulate explanations of why it should or shouldn't matter.
I have emailed Betty Crase to ask for her input; perhaps I did not clearly  
explain the information she gave in her long ago talk but it was very helpful 
to  me to explain that true insufficient milk supply has a myriad  of 
influences; anatomical, management issues, physiologic issues and so on.  When I hear 
from her, I will share the information with her  permission.
